Proverbs in Practice: Humor, Wisdom, and Chinese Medicine
Thursday, October 8 | 12–1 PM PT | Yo San University
Yo San alum Dr. Aman Sahota returns to share her self-published book, Roobaroo: “Akhaan,” which explores the richness of Indian and Pakistani proverbs and the Northern Indian culture from which they emerge. Blending insight and humor, the book considers how traditional sayings preserve wisdom, reflect everyday life, and connect people across generations.
In this special book talk, Aman will interpret selected proverbs through the lens of Traditional Chinese Medicine—comparing them with Chinese proverbs and exploring how their lessons may apply to patient care and clinical practice.
About the Author: Dr. Aman Sahota is a Yo San University alumna, Family Nurse Practitioner, and Doctor of Acupuncture. A graduate of Johns Hopkins and Duke University, she brings nearly a decade of ICU nursing experience to her integrative approach to primary care and East Asian medicine. She currently practices in Renton, Washington, and speaks English, Punjabi, Hindi, and Urdu.
